YBTC News—It is often said that ” in every disability,there is always an ability waiting to be tapped.

Ybtc personality for the week is Anthony Olumide Kupe lives to hold and build on his abilities, touching lives in any means necessary.

Kupe foundation is an NGO founded by Mr Anthony Olumide Kupe, a cerebral palsy warrior and a Business Administration graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic.

Anthony, the only child to Mr and Mrs Kupe was born January 14th, 1991 and hails from Badagry, Lagos State.

He attended Progressive Primary School from 1997- 2004 and Community High School from 2004-2010 both in Lagos State for his primary and secondary education.
Anthony has proven that he and people like him are differently-abled, rather than disabled. He has over the years proven that with the right resources and access to empowering education, differently-abled people can achieve great feats. Today he stands as a model and source of inspiration for parents of and people out there living with one form of physical challenge or the other.

According to him, his major source of inspiration has been his friend. He said, ”a friend of mine who is more or less like a sister to me always gave me the encouragement to pursue my dreams as she often says that I can do anything I put my mind to”.
Since he started his career in 2008, Anthony has been a part of many inspiring success stories, including a recent deal with the Cuppy Foundation.

His advice to young Nigerians, especially the physically challenged is that they should be determined to achieve their dreams no matter what.

Anthony Unveils His Foundation
He confesses: “My passion for people living with disabilities started when I failed WAEC over 5 times as a result of my bad hand writing; one of the negative sides of Palsy. This has led me to start up my own foundation, the ‘Kupe Foundation’ to help people living with disabilities and provide a platform for them to showcase their talents.”

“There is ability in disability concert” is the official unveiling ceremony of the Kupe Foundation slated for the 31st of October 2019 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel with special appearances and performances from top Nigerian celebrities namely, AY, Funke Akindele, Korede Bello, YAW, Jaywon, Faze, MC Abbey, Annie Idibia, amongst others.

With respect to the funds raised and what they would be used for, he says, “100 percent of the proceeds raised at the foundation will be used to support people living with disabilities.”
The show will be aired on HIP TV for 2 hours.
